If you prefer a minimal dock, you can hide Aqua Voice from the dock while keeping it running in the menu bar.
How to Hide the Dock Icon
- Click the Aqua Voice icon in the dock to make it the active application.
- In the top-left menu bar, click Aqua Voice → Quit Aqua Voice (UI).
- Once the UI is quit, uncheck “Keep in Dock" on the Aqua Voice dock icon.
Important: Don't click "Quit Aqua Completely" from the menu bar icon in the top right. That will stop Aqua Voice entirely, not just hide the dock icon.
How to Restore the Dock Icon
- Search for “Aqua Voice” in spotlight and launch it. Alternatively, double-click Aqua Voice from inside your Applications folder.
- You should see a voice in the top left. And again, it's the active application. And it should appear in the dock.
- Check “Keep in Dock" on the Aqua Voice dock icon.
What's the difference between "Quit Aqua Voice (UI)" and regular quit?
Quit Aqua Voice (UI) closes only the visible window while keeping Aqua Voice running in the background. You can still use your activation keys to dictate.
Regular quit (force quitting or quitting from Activity Monitor) stops Aqua Voice completely, and you won't be able to use any features until you relaunch it.
Will my activation keys still work with the dock icon hidden?
Yes! Aqua Voice continues running in the background, so all your activation keys and features work normally.
